Why we’re making Maison Nouvelle

For years I walked past the same empty corner shop and imagined what it could be. Not another place that rushes you in and out, but somewhere worth slowing down for — considered, quiet, made by hand.

Maison Nouvelle started as a notebook full of swatches, half-finished sketches, and a stubborn belief that the small things still matter. The weight of a door handle. The way light falls across a counter at four in the afternoon. The feeling of being somewhere that was made on purpose.

We’re not in a hurry. Everything you’ll see when we open has been chosen, reworked, and chosen again. If that sounds like your kind of place, you found us at exactly the right moment — before the doors, while the paint is still drying.

When we open, the people on this list come first. That’s the whole point of being early.
