Collector's Condition & Care Report

Every number below comes from the same records the public ready-to-ship table reads — completion date, drying category, and the for-sale flag — extended with what those facts imply for handling a specific painting: the pigments actually in its paint film, how it should be framed, and the date it can safely travel. Nothing here is re-typed by hand, so it cannot drift from the table on the public page.

Low Tide

Oil on linen · minimum cure 2 years before varnish (thick impasto).

Framing & glazing

Frame
Floater frame, rebate depth clearing the stretcher bars by at least 6 mm so the frame never touches the paint film.
Glazing
None. Oil paint film is protected by its own varnish layer and needs to breathe — glazing traps moisture against the surface and can touch a film that is still curing.
Why
A linen canvas moves slightly with humidity; a floater frame lets it move without the frame rubbing the tacking edge.

Kitchen Table

Oil on cradled panel · minimum cure 6 months before varnish (standard alla-prima layering).

Framing & glazing

Frame
Panel or box frame seated on the cradle, not the painted face — the cradle carries the weight, the frame carries the cradle.
Glazing
None. Oil paint film is protected by its own varnish layer and needs to breathe — glazing traps moisture against the surface and can touch a film that is still curing.
Why
A cradled panel does not move the way stretched linen does, so the frame can sit closer, but the rebate still must clear the paint film itself.
