Storm Damage & Insurance Claims

Hail hit. Here is how the claim actually works.

Most hail damage does not leak on the day it happens, which is why so many claims are filed late and denied. This is the whole sequence: what we look for before you file, what happens on the roof with the adjuster, and what your policy will and will not pay for. Read it before you call anyone, including us.

How a claim runs, start to finish

Every plan includes at least one whole-home safety inspection a year and member pricing on any work we do — for less than the cost of a single stand-alone inspection. No initiation fee, cancel anytime before renewal.

Before you file

Day 0 to day 3 · free

Inspection and evidence

Free no obligation

Filing blind risks a denial on record Costs nothing, decides everything

Filing a claim that gets denied is worse than not filing: the denial sits on your claims history and can affect your premium. So the first thing is to find out whether there is real, documentable damage — before anyone calls the insurer.

  • Full roof inspection within 48 hours of your call
  • Every hail strike chalked, photographed and counted per slope
  • Test square marked out the way an adjuster marks one
  • Collateral damage recorded: vents, gutters, screens, AC fins
  • A straight answer on whether you have a claim worth filing
  • Written report either way, yours to keep

Filing and the adjuster

Day 3 to day 21 · free

The meeting that sets the payout

Free included with the work

Unattended adjuster meetings settle low The scope is the settlement

A claim is paid from a scope of work written on the day the adjuster climbs the roof. If nobody who works for you is standing there when it is written, it gets written without you. We are there, with our own numbers, and we do not leave the roof disagreeing quietly.

  • We help you file, or file alongside you
  • We meet the adjuster on the roof, every time
  • Our documentation handed over before the inspection starts
  • Line-item scope reviewed against ours on the day
  • Supplements filed for anything the first scope missed
  • Re-inspection requested if the claim is denied

Approval and build

Day 21 onward

The roof, and the paperwork after it

Your deductible the rest is the claim

Deductible waiving is fraud, not a discount Two warranties, both in your name

Once the scope is agreed, the work is the straightforward part. You pay your deductible and the carrier pays the rest against the agreed scope. We invoice to that scope, so the number you were approved for is the number you see.

  • Materials ordered to the approved scope, no substitutions
  • Decking allowance priced per sheet before we start
  • Depreciation released with our final invoice and photographs
  • Magnetic sweep of the property every evening
  • Manufacturer warranty registered in your name
  • Workmanship warranty issued in writing

We do not charge for inspection, documentation, adjuster meetings or supplement filing. Those are part of the job, not a service we sell separately — and any roofer charging you for them before a claim is approved is worth a second look.

What a policy covers, and what it does not

Every inclusion side by side. Home and Whole-Home add the checkups, waived fees, and deeper discounts that pay for themselves the first time something goes wrong.

What We Hand The Adjuster

A claim is won on documentation, not on argument.

Adjusters are not the enemy and they are not being difficult. They settle from what they can see and defend. The difference between an approval and a denial is almost always whether the damage was recorded properly, on the day, in a form that survives review. This is what we produce for every claim, before anyone climbs the roof.

Slope diagram

Non-member A roof sketch, sometimes
Plan member Every slope, measured and numbered

Aerial measurement of every facet with pitch and square footage, so the scope covers the whole roof rather than the two slopes someone walked.

Test squares

Non-member One, if asked
Plan member One per damaged slope, chalked

A ten-by-ten square marked and counted on each slope, the way a carrier expects to see it. Most denials we overturn are slopes nobody squared.

Photographs

Non-member A handful from the ground
Plan member Dated, close-range, per strike

Close photographs with a gauge in frame, plus wide shots that place each one on the roof. A photograph nobody can locate proves nothing.

Collateral evidence

Non-member Rarely recorded
Plan member Vents, gutters, screens, AC fins

Soft metal dents where hail hit. It is the strongest corroboration there is, because it dates the event and nobody can call it wear.

Storm verification

Non-member Left to the carrier
Plan member Date, hail size, wind speed

Weather data for the address on the date claimed. It closes off the argument that the damage came from some other, older event.

Code requirements

Non-member Often missed
Plan member Cited, with the ordinance

Ventilation, ice-and-water and decking rules that force a rebuild beyond a like-for-like patch. Payable when your policy carries the endorsement, and easy to leave on the table when nobody raises it.

Every item here is produced whether or not you go on to use us for the work. If you take our documentation to another roofer, it is still yours.

In Writing

The promises worth making are the ones you can hold us to.

Roofing has a reputation, and it was earned by companies that arrive after a storm and leave before the warranty matters. These are the commitments we put in writing on every job, including the ones that cost us work.

We will never offer to waive your deductible

It is insurance fraud in Oklahoma, it can void your claim, and the money has to come out of the work somewhere you cannot see. Any roofer who offers it is telling you what they are willing to do to a roof.

We will tell you when you do not have a claim

Plenty of roofs we inspect after a storm are undamaged, or damaged in ways a carrier will not pay for. We say so and put it in writing. A free inspection that always finds a claim is a sales call.

Our invoice matches the approved scope

We bill to the scope the carrier approved, with decking priced per sheet up front. No line items appear on the final invoice that were not discussed before the work started.

We are still here in ten years

Sixteen years in the metro, twelve people on staff, one office you can drive to. A workmanship warranty is only worth the company standing behind it, which is the whole problem with the trucks that show up after a hailstorm.

Nothing here is unusual for a roofer who intends to keep working in the same city. It is written down because, after a big storm, plenty of the people knocking on your door do not.

Think you were hit? Get it looked at.

A free inspection tells you whether you have a claim worth filing, and we will say so either way. If there is nothing there, you get that in writing too.
