Design system
This page is noindex: it documents the template for whoever builds with it. Every
contrast ratio below was computed against the WCAG relative-luminance formula before shipping, not
eyeballed.
The palette, measured
RESEARCH.md names #224BC3 — hue 225°, S 70%, L 45% — cobalt/ultramarine, the colour of
blueline/blueprint convention and the ultramarine ink used for revision marks on digital drawing
sheets, deliberately distinct from day 132's teal-blue (hue ∼193°) and day 131's indigo (hue
∼255°). RESEARCH.md's own stated contrast figures — ink #14171F on ground
#F5F6F8 at 16.6:1, accent #224BC3 on ground at 6.8:1, white
#FFFFFF on accent at 7.3:1 — were checked against the same WCAG relative-luminance
formula used everywhere else in this library and matched exactly, to two decimal places
(16.57:1, 6.78:1,
7.34:1). No correction was needed here — unlike
some earlier days in this batch, the brief's own numbers held up.
One figure needed adding, not correcting: the footer inverts to an ink-dark band
(#14171F), and the raw accent used directly as text there measures only
2.44:1 — not accessible. A lightened cobalt,
#6E8EEB, was derived for that one context and measures
5.74:1 on the band, comfortably AA. It is used
nowhere else; every other accent reference on the page is the unmodified #224BC3.
Typography
Jost for headings and drawing lettering — a Futura-derived geometric sans, the lettering register of modernist drawing title blocks. Albert Sans for body and UI text, legible at table and schedule density, with tabular figures used for every area-schedule and fee-table numeral instead of a monospace face (this batch reserves monospace for another day). Literata is reserved for the three attributed client pull-quotes only, giving them a printed, editorial register distinct from the drawing-sheet sans everywhere else on the page.
Schema.org — what's settled, what's withheld
ProfessionalService carries a real PostalAddress (Winnipeg, MB) and
areaServed Manitoba — unlike day 136's industrial-design studio, which withheld any
physical-location schema because its work happens in a private studio with no client-facing address.
Reyes Architecture Studio is exactly the opposite: architects practising under provincial licensure
are tied to a jurisdiction, and asserting that jurisdiction is the honest claim here, not the
withheld one. Person carries hasCredential referencing MAA Registered
Member status — a real, checkable credential category, not an invented one.
Service carries no price or priceRange — for a third, distinct
reason in this batch's running ledger: the fee here is a published percentage of a
construction cost that doesn't exist yet at inquiry stage, not an unbuilt cut list (day 135) and not
a scope-varies-too-much hand-wave (day 136). Asserting a dollar price would assert a number derived
from a construction-cost estimate that hasn't been produced. No Product/Offer
appears anywhere on this page, deliberately — architectural services are never sold as a fixed-price
good, the first template in the recent ledger (131–136) with no Product/Offer pairing at all.
Also withheld: aggregateRating (no reviews collected); any project's completed
construction cost (client-confidential); permit approval dates for projects still in review.
One module, read by every surface that shows its numbers
src/lib/area.ts's computeEfficiencyPct() is the only place a net-to-gross
efficiency percentage is derived from a project's net floor area and gross floor area. Each project
card's area-efficiency <dl> and the portfolio-wide comparison
<table> both read the same function against the same
src/data/projects.ts, so the two surfaces can never quietly disagree about a number
that took real arithmetic to produce.
A correction to RESEARCH.md's own count
RESEARCH.md describes the design process as "the RAIC/CHOP 8-stage design process" but then lists
seven distinct phases (programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents,
bidding/negotiation, contract administration, post-occupancy). The RAIC CHOP and the AIA's own phase
model both settle on seven named phases; the page ships seven <ol> items, not
eight, and the label above corrects the miscount rather than padding the list to match it.
