Our Story

Built by lifters, for lifters

In 2019, Marcus Cole opened Iron Peak Fitness on South Lamar with one conviction: Austin deserved a gym where serious training and genuine community weren't mutually exclusive.

Marcus had spent seven years as an S&C coach at Division I athletics, watching overcrowded big-box gyms push members through cookie-cutter programs. He built Iron Peak differently — smaller class sizes, higher coach-to-member ratios, equipment chosen for performance over aesthetics.

Five years and 1,200 members later, the model holds. Half our members were referred by existing members. Our average tenure is 22 months — nearly double the industry average. We don't spend on gimmicks; we invest in coaching quality and equipment upkeep.

Try a Free Day
Can I try the gym before committing to a membership?
Yes — we offer a free day pass for first-time visitors. No credit card required. Just show up, sign our waiver at the front desk, and explore the full gym and one group class.
What are your hours?
Monday – Friday: 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Saturday – Sunday: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Key-fob access for monthly and annual members extends to 24/5 (closed Sat–Sun midnight).
Do I need to book classes in advance?
Most classes can be booked 3 days ahead via the Iron Peak member app or the front desk. Popular classes (spin, HIIT) fill up fast — we recommend booking 48 hours in advance. Walk-ins are welcome if space allows.
Are there personal training options?
Yes. All four of our trainers offer 1-on-1 sessions in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute blocks. Monthly and annual members get 1–3 complimentary sessions per year. Additional sessions start at $65 each.
Is there parking?
We have a dedicated 40-space lot behind the building, accessible from Lamar Blvd. Overflow parking is available on the street. Bike racks are available at the entrance.
Can I bring a guest?
Monthly members receive 2 guest passes per month; annual members receive 4. Day-pass guests pay the standard $20 drop-in rate. Guests must be accompanied by the member at all times.
What equipment do you have?
We run a full commercial floor: 24 cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, rowers, ski ergs), free weights up to 150 lbs, 6 squat racks, 3 Olympic platforms, cable machines, functional training rigs, and a separate group fitness studio.
How do I cancel my membership?
Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime with 30 days written notice — no cancellation fee. Annual memberships can be paused (up to 60 days/year) or cancelled with a $75 early-exit fee before the 12-month term ends.
