About the Trainer
Hi, I'm Alex Rivera.
I've been coaching clients in Austin for 8 years. Before that, I spent three years working as a strength coach at UT Austin's Athletics Department, programming for varsity track, basketball, and swimming athletes — which gave me a deep foundation in evidence-based, periodized strength and conditioning.
My private clients are mostly busy professionals — engineers, healthcare workers, executives, parents — who have real demands on their time and energy. They don't need a rigid plan that ignores their life. They need a coach who builds the plan around their life.
I hold the NSCA's CSCS (the gold standard for strength and conditioning), the ACSM-CPT, Precision Nutrition Level 2, and an ACE Group Fitness certification. I pursue continuing education every year because the science moves fast and I owe my clients the most current, evidence-based approach available.

Your program, your pace
Fully individualized training sessions at Embody Austin or your preferred location in Austin. Each session begins with a brief mobility check-in, then moves into your customized programming — strength, conditioning, or hybrid. I track every set, every rep, and adjust on the fly. Clients see the most dramatic body composition results with this format.

Shared energy, personalized programming
Pairs or groups of 2–4 train together under my direct coaching — every participant has an individualized program within the group session. You get the accountability and energy of training with others, plus the precision of a personal program. Small groups keep a tight community feel — you'll know your group members by name.

Online Coaching
Coaching anywhere you train
Full coaching relationship delivered remotely. I build your 12-week program in TrueCoach, you execute it at your gym (or home), and we connect weekly via video check-in. Perfect for clients who travel frequently or prefer training independently. Fully adjustable — if you're in Austin and want to do an occasional in-person session, we can layer that in.

Every coaching relationship begins with a 90-minute Kickoff Assessment: body composition scan (InBody 570), movement screening (FMS-inspired), training history review, lifestyle audit, and honest conversation about your goals — not just what you think sounds good, but what you actually want your life to look like 6 months from now. This session shapes everything that follows.

Program
Build the right plan
I write your program from scratch — no templates, no one-size-fits-all. Periodized across 12-week mesocycles aligned to your goal (fat loss, muscle gain, performance, or all three). Each week is structured around your schedule, recovery capacity, and available equipment. Nutrition targets are set using metabolic data from your assessment, not generic formulas.
